Nailed it!

Nailed itWe all love the feeling we get after going to a nail salon and treating ourselves to a mani or pedi. Fresh nails are the best way to make any girl’s day, right?! But let’s face it, going to the salon as often as you need to whether it’s for touch ups, nails for a special occasion or just enjoying the regular pamper sesh isn’t ideal! Over time, this can get extremely pricey – not to mention, time consuming!

They say your hands say a lot about who you are as a person and luckily we have your back. With a number of products from 1000 Hour that can assist you in achieving the perfect manicure, you can have the nails you want in no time – anytime! Fancy nails are a hot trend in 2016!

First and foremost, you must take care of your hands and not just your nails. Invest in a good hand cream and apply it regularly to ensure your hands remain soft and wrinkle-free.

Prepare yourself for the perfect set of nails, in only a few simple steps:

Step 1: Start with a blank canvas
Using your 1000 Hour Tweezers, gently remove any excess skin around your cuticles. Then, buff your nails to get a smooth, clean and shiny result.

Step 2: Pick your style
If you haven’t already, now is the time to choose if you want coloured nails or keep it simple with French tip. 1000 Hour have a number of nail kits with everything from your natural and understated French Tip selection, right through to something with a little more bling such as diamante or pink shimmer tips.

If you are new to DIY nail care and normally go to a salon, then we definitely recommend using a nail kit as the pack includes everything you’ll need!

Step 3: Too many options!

If you have decided to have a go at artificial nails, open the 1000 Hour Nail Kit and pull out the ‘orangewood’ stick to gently push back your cuticles (you might have seen them do this in the salon – just once or twice!). Match the artificial nail to the size of your own nail and keep them aside to ensure you place the correct ones on your nail.

If you decide to give fake nails a miss, that’s ok. With 1000 Hour Nail Design Pens in colours such as gold, pink, black and red, you won’t need fake nails to make a statement. You can create your own colourful design to suit any occasion – bonus!

Step 4: Glue away!
Firstly, attach the nail to the hook or ‘suction cup’ within the kit ready to apply. Apply the supplied glue to the false nail as well as your own natural nail as this will ensure the nail remains extra secure when stuck on and there won’t be any unwanted strays falling off midway through the process.

Then, all you have to do is simply place the false nail evenly over your natural nail, secure and press down gently. Hold the nail down for 5-10 seconds to guarantee the nail is efficiently fastened.

Step 5: Glue alternative
If you’re not a fan of the glue, try the alternative application option with the 1000 Hour Press On Nail Tabs. All kits come with this option and you can even buy them separately, if you find them simpler for easy application. With these tabs, it’s important to remember NOT to remove the paper backing on the tabs until they have been applied to every single nail.

Finally, don’t forget to grab your 1000 Hour Nail Remover liquid to soak your falsies in until they dissolve – and there you have it, not only easy to apply but just as easy to remove as well!
