Christmas makeup tutorial

fav brushes for your christmas makeupFrom Christmas parties, work drinks, to social gatherings and end of year celebrations – we know you beauties are busier than ever! So it’s time to get out your favourite make up brushes, glam yourself up for the occasion and create a little magic – Christmas style!

We’re here to help save you some time during this crazy time, so we’ve put together a simple step-by-step make up tutorial that will have you embracing the festive feel in no time!

Step 1:
Using your Real Techniques foundation brush, apply a medium coverage foundation. The shorter bristles make for an easier and quicker application, which also means you get better coverage and a flawless finish!

Step 2:
Once you have perfected your base, it’s time to move onto the eyes. Using the base shadow brush, apply a gold shimmer to the inner corners of each eye brushing outwards to cover half the lid. Use small strokes and take the shadow to the crease of the lid.

Step 3:
Using a bronze shimmer, take the same base shadow brush and add colour to the outer corners of the lid blending into the gold shadow with light feathery strokes. Blend the two colours and then bring this underneath to accentuate the eye.

Step 4:
We recommend using black gel eyeliner and the fine liner brush for best results. It’s best to start with small strokes close to the lash line, then go back and add thickness to suit your style. Optional: Take the base shadow brush and blend the eyeliner a little to create a softer line.

Step 5:
Apply mascara starting from the roots of your lashes moving up and out.

Step 6:
Now it’s time to add some 1000 Hour false eyelashes. You can go for a natural lash look or go all out with a dramatic set of lashes. Simply apply glue to the eyelashes and allow for glue to dry for approximately 15 seconds. Apply false eyelashes on top of your eyelashes, pressing down the centre and then each side. Tip: Try using tweezers to help with application.

Step 7:
To apply your concealer, use the Bold Metals Oval brush just under the eye and anywhere else you feel you need that little bit of extra coverage. Tip: This brush is also ideal for eye shadow application.

Step 8:
The exclusive angled highlighter brush is perfect to create a flawless finish. Using this brush and your favourite highlighter, brush lightly over the cheek, which will create a subtle shine.

Step 9:
For the perfect blush application, the multi task brush is ideal. Take the brush to the apple of the cheeks really blending it into the already applied highlighter.

Hint: This brush is perfect for almost anything - hence, the name. It’s good for powder foundation, blusher, bronzer or all over shimmer.

Step 10:
The Bold Metals Arched Powder brush can also be used to apply bronzer. Brush along the hairline and around the edges of your face and down the neck to ensure your face colour matches your neck.

Step 11:
Applying your lip colour is the perfect way to finish off your Christmas look. First apply a red lip liner to cover your whole top and bottom lip. Then using your retractable lip brush, apply your shinny gloss or lipstick for that lasting finish.

So, there you have it! Your how-to Christmas make up look that’ll leave you feeling ready for any Christmas celebration, whatever and where ever it may be.

Merry Christmas, beauties!
